One-to-One Guidance available immediately / Next Better Driving Course starts 2nd March 2010

About us…

For almost 30 years Worthing Advanced Motorists have been promoting better driving skills for motorists in Worthing and the surrounding area. We do this in a variety of ways, principally:

  • Free guidance on a one-to-one basis for road users to improve their driving skills to the standard set by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM);
  • Classroom based Better Driving Courses for the general public;
  • A varied programme of meetings and events throughout the year, which includes talks, videos and practical demonstrations.

The majority of members are also members of the IAM, actively supporting the Group in its objectives above and socially. Associate members are welcomed into the Group to prepare for the IAM Advanced Test with the aid of our trained Observers.

The Group is a registered charity and all its Observers are volunteers who provide their services without charge.

If you are a motorcyclist, find out about the dedicated group that we set up in 1999, the West Sussex Advanced Motorcyclists. Click here.

About the IAM…

The Institute of Advanced Motorists was set up in 1956 to promote road safety and to improve the standards of driving and riding. Whilst its most well known service is the provision of the Advanced Test for car drivers, motorcyclists and commercial and public service vehicle drivers, the IAM is recognised by, and active amongst, government and non-governmental organisations.
