speed limits, and why speed limits are imposed, recognition of limits
on various roads. Effects of speed on thinking, braking and stopping
distances and times, on cornering forces and stability of car. Speed
in relation to crashes and judgement of appropriate speeds during
day-time, at night and in fog. Speed related procedures for joining
or leaving motorways and dual-carriageways. |

What causes skids, types of skids, how to avoid them
starting, how to correct a skid if a one should occur. |
| Common faults and concerns |
A consideration of common driving faults and an opportunity
to discuss any topics course participants may wish to raise. |
